Muehlner Announces Two-Car LMP3 Effort for Rolex 24

Former Mazda factory pilot Joel Miller is among the drivers announced in Muehlner Motorsports’ planned two-car LMP3 effort for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The team has announced full lineups for its pair of Duqueine D08 Nissans for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener, which will see one car continue for the Michelin Endurance Cup season.

Miller is set to be joined by team regular and IMSA Prototype Challenge race winner Moritz Kranz, Porsche Carrera Cup North America Pro-Am class champion Efrin Castro and Ayrton Ori in the No. 6 entry for Daytona.

Nolan Siegel, Cameron Shields and Charles Crews will be joined by European Le Mans Series LMP3 standout Ugo De Wilde in the No. 26 car, meanwhile.

While having been absent from WeatherTech Championship competition since 2018, Miller has contested other major endurance races and has been a test driver for California-based supercar builder Czinger Vehicles. 

“[I’m] very grateful to be on board with Muehlner Motorsports for the Rolex 24 this year,” said Miller. “Big thanks to all the partners that made this happen and especially Bernie [team principal Bernhard Muehlner].

“We have stayed in touch over time and now we can go racing together. The team is passionate about what they do and will be great to help them on track.  Personally, it is great to be back and cannot wait to get started working with my teammates at the Roar in preparation for the 24hr event.”

Despite an expected oversubscribed entry for the race, team owner Bernhard Muehlner told Sportscar365 that both cars have been confirmed by IMSA, with entry fees already paid.

The No. 6 car, spearheaded by Miller at Daytona, will also compete in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and Motul Petit Le Mans in LMP3.
